Interrelated factors in drug use

Misuse of drugs: psychosocial and environmental influences

To demonstrate how the psychosocial and environmental factors are interrelated in respect of illicit drug use, Tones and Tilford developed a model (below).>1  This model reinforces the view that illicit drug use is complex and does not lend itself easily to single cause explanations.
