Out of our mouths, not out of our heads. A report on drugs and drug use in West Belfast, 1996
This survey was carried out in West Belfast in December 1995 among 123 young people aged between 16-19 years. It was carried out through a postal survey and, at a later stage, individual and group interviews.
Main findings
- 86% of respondents said they had been offered drugs;
- 12% of these said they were regular users;
- 34% of respondents said they had been offered but had never used;
- the most popular drugs were found to be cannabis, Ecstasy and LSD.
